As we mentioned in the first part of this series, with the opening of our new site, the Kapipal team would like to provide advice on how to have successful crowdfunding campaigns. Instead of writing out extremely long post, we decided to break our advice up into segments, with each part covering a different tip. Below is part two, which discusses the need for motivation and passion.

The Importance of Motivation

For a quick moment, consider two different crowdfunding campaigns:

  • Campaign A was created by a highly motivated individual who deeply cared about their campaign, so much so that instead of merely telling a few friends, they created an entire Facebook page for their campaign so their friends could tell their friends, etc.
  • Campaign B was created by an individual who wasn’t really sure about how crowdfunding worked but knew a few people that have had success so they figure, “Hey, I might as well create a campaign and sit here at my computer as I watch my dreams magically come to life.”

Which of these two campaigns do you think found the most success? If you guessed Campaign A, then you are right! Campaign A had no difficulties reaching their campaign goal, whereas campaign B was barely able to generate any funds for their dreams.

Caring for Kian

A great example of the power of motivation is the Kapipal campaign Caring for Kian. For those of you who do not know, Kian is a 3-year-old boy who has been diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called neuroblastoma. As you can imagine, Kian and his family have had to seek extensive treatment, resulting in unmanageable medical bills. To help manage costs, Kian’s mother created a Kapipal campaign to help generate funds. But she did not stop there, she also promoted the campaign on Facebook, Twitter and news outlets. Her promotion efforts proved to be extremely successful, as her Facebook page has over 40k likes and managed to generate so much buzz that word of Kian’s campaign spread to X-Factor judge Simon Cowell, who generously donated £25k.

Kian is still in need of medical and financial support, so if you are will and able, click here to donate to Kian’s campaign.

As that example shows, motivation and passion are two essential keys for creating successful crowdfunding campaigns. This certainly makes a lot of sense because motivation is also a key ingredient for making your dreams come true And that is what Kapipal and crowdfunding is all about: raising money to turn your dreams into reality!
