For my sixth studio album, my trio the Second Chances (Melissa Walker and Bramwell Park) went out to Mayne Island, British Columbia, to record with Adam Iredale-Gray (Fish+Bird, the Aerialists) for four days in July. Our Long Weekends bandmates Dana Wylie and Matt Blackie dropped in for a couple days, as did a few other friends, a couple dogs, and a constant parade of deer through the yard.  We recorded seven new songs of my own, a co-write with Australia's Benjamin James Caldwell, one by Chicago songstress and good friend Heather Styka, and a re-working of a traditional spiritual called "Walk That Lonesome Valley".  It's mostly in the can, but we've still got overdubs, editing, mixing, and mastering to do, in addition to the big book I'm gonna put together, like always, with the words and chords and some thoughts about the road so far and the way forward.  For those of you who've pre-ordered, I hope to have it in your hands before the end of the year.  I expect it'll be our best ride yet.  And you're invited on the train.
